State Multi (Combined Event Championships)

The State Combined Events Championship (previously known as State Multi-Event Championships) are held on the first full weekend in March each year.

The 2019 Combined Events Championship will be held at Barden Park, Dubbo on Saturday & Sunday, 2 & 3 March 2019.  Thank you to Dubbo City Council and Dubbo Little Athletics for assisting with this event. Entry to the State Multi-Event is now open and is online only.  Please CLICK HERE to register for this great event for all the family.

Entries will close on Wednesday, 13 February 2019 at a cost of $25 per athlete entry (with a late entry a week later at $50 per athlete).  Usually an officials seminar is held on the Friday evening prior to the event.  More information will be posted HERE at a later date.

First event each day will be at 9am, with first call at 8.45am. Athletes participate in ALL of the events on offer for their particular age group. Performances for all events are allocated points, based on the LANSW Multi-Event pointscore system. The points are then added together to determine final results.

Age Group Managers

As usual, we will require parents to act as Age Group Managers (which is similar to centre age managers) at the State Multi-Event.  There will (hopefully) be up to two (2) Age Group Managers per age group and gender (eg. Under 9 Boys Blue, Under 9 Girls Pink, Under 10 Boys Silver etc).  If no parent helper is available, we do allow the older age groups to look after themselves (U13-U17) if one of the competing athletes nominates themselves to look after the paperwork.  If you are interested in escorting your child and their age group to their events, in the role of Age Group Managers, please read the AGE GROUP MANAGER MEMO and send your expression of interest to dlevy@lansw.com.au.  Please note that groups without Age Group Managers (Parent helpers) will not be permitted to leave the Meeting Point areas until they have someone to act as Age Group Manager.  If you require more information please contact Diane Levy via email.

LIST OF COMPETITORS will be sent to all athletes who enter (following close of late entries).  This will show the age group and colour group allocated to each athlete plus the name of the Age Group Manager. Remember that athletes WILL NOT be permitted to leave the meeting point areas if there is no age group manager.

Merchandise

State Combined Events specific shirts will be organised.  Normally these shirts will need to be pre-ordered.  Details will be advised in due course.

Program and Event Details

An EVENT LIST BY AGE-DAY will be posted.  This shows the events held for each age group per day and event start time for each event.   It will also show the meeting point areas that athletes must report to 20 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of  each event. We will not be producing a hard copy of the program.  The LIST of COMPETITORS, plus EVENT LIST (above) should be downloaded and printed prior to your arrival at Jubilee Park OR leave a copy on your smart phone.  Remember, no printed programs will be available on the day.

Three boys and three girls from the U15 age group will be selected from their performances at the State Combined Events Championship, to compete in the Australian Little Athletics Championships, which is held on the weekend near Anzac Day each year.  These athletes will be selected based on their performances in the events which make up the ALAC Multi-Event competition.  Each year the Australian Little Athletics Championships is hosted by a different State/Territory Association. In 2019 the event will be hosted by LATas.  The event will be held as a two-day event on Saturday and Sunday, 27 & 28 April 2019 in Hobart.
